As the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H draws near, Indonesia’s payment system industry once again enters a critical period marked by a substantial increase in transaction volumes. This seasonal surge has consistently served as a stress test for the reliability and resilience of payment infrastructure across banking and fintech channels. In response, PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara (“Jalin”) hosted the 2025 Ramadan and Eid Operational Forum (RaFi) on Thursday, March 20, reaffirming its commitment to operational excellence under this year’s theme: PRIME – Performance & Reliability in Maximizing Excellence.
The forum provided a strategic platform for collaboration among more than 85 member institutions within Jalin’s ecosystem, uniting stakeholders to ensure optimal readiness in navigating the transactional peak. The theme PRIME underscores two critical dimensions in delivering robust payment system services: performance, referring to the infrastructure’s ability to accommodate transaction surges with stability and efficiency, and reliability, reflecting the consistency of service availability and continuity. Together, these elements form the foundation of a payment ecosystem that is not only resilient but also agile and future-proof.
With the anticipated rise in transactions during the Eid season, the collective goal is to ensure uninterrupted operations while fostering healthy growth in transaction volumes across institutions. A key milestone highlighted during the forum was the successful migration of over 4,500 Himbara Virtual ATMs to a newly adopted shared services model. This transition not only represents a leap toward industry-wide standardization and efficiency but also unlocks opportunities for deeper infrastructure integration across banks. The shared services approach has proven to significantly streamline operational processes, enabling institutions to redirect focus toward enhancing customer experience.
Further strengthening its operational footprint, Jalin officially launched its first Regional Office (RO) in Bandung, West Java, earlier this week. The selection of Bandung was based on its dynamic digital and banking landscape, coupled with its strategic position to support services across the western region of Java. The new regional office is expected to enhance proximity to Jalin members, accelerate responsiveness to regional operational needs, and serve as a foundation for future expansions into Central and East Java.
During the forum, Jalin’s operations team also presented its technical preparedness for RaFi 2025, detailing a series of strategic measures designed to safeguard system performance and reliability throughout the peak period. The event also featured forward-looking discussions on the future of the payments industry. Kristiady Immanuel, Manager of Product & Development at Mastercard, shared perspectives on how artificial intelligence is reshaping the digital payment landscape, serving as a key enabler of transformation. Complementing this, Ahmad Taufik Rahman, SVP of Incubation & Certificate Authority at VIDA Digital Identity, provided insights on the pivotal role of digital identity in strengthening transaction security and operational efficiency.
Through this forum, Jalin once again underscored its role as the orchestrator of Indonesia’s national payment system, committed to fostering reliability, enabling cross-sector collaboration, and driving sustainable innovation within the country’s digital economy. Guided by the principles of PRIME, Jalin is well-positioned to ensure that the 2025 Eid period becomes a benchmark for operational excellence and industry-wide growth.
